It’s that time of year again; time to start creating those costumes and planning your trip to the pumpkin patch. If can be difficult to find something that isn’t too scary for the younger kids but will entertain everyone. Kamloops has several family friendly events for Halloween. To make your life easier, we have a listing of four events the whole family will enjoy.
Boo at the Zoo
The annual Boo at the Zoo event will run from October 27th until October 29th from 5 pm until 9 pm. The BC Wildlife Park hosts this event and it’s fun for children of all ages. Kids will be entertained by Uncle Chris the Clown and they’ll be able to take a ride on the mini train! There are hundreds of light features that are sure to delight every family member.
Dr. Padova’s Halloween Carnival
This spooky event begs the question, “Are you afraid of the dark?” Your entire family can find out with Dr. Padova’s Halloween Carnival. This Halloween Carnival runs October 26th, October 27th, and October 28th from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm at the Tranquille Farm Fresh. Your family will travel through several spooky Halloween-themed tunnels and if that isn’t enough, there are a multitude of dark and mysterious buildings to explore as well. Bring the whole family. The younger kids will be able to enjoy this carnival in the earlier hours, while the older kids and adults can enjoy it as it gets darker.
Ghost Train
The Ghost Train is an annual Kamloops tradition. It runs October 20th to the 21st and October 27th and 28th at 7 pm at the Kamloops Heritage Railway. Your family will journey through the veil that separates the living from the dead. Get excited for this one because the characters will deliver a fright. You can visit the funeral parlour or if you’re feeling brave, a blood-curdling exorcism! This event will delight every member of your family, from young to old.
Trick or Treat Train
The Trick or Treat Train is the perfect event for your younger children. It runs on October 29th at 3 pm at the Kamloops Heritage Railway. There will be family-friendly characters and upbeat music on this hour long train ride. The train will make a special stop at a pumpkin patch so your children can pick out their very own pumpkin to take home with them to carve. There will be nothing scary about this train ride so bring your family for a fun Halloween event!
